Viewing live and recorded video locally

An ADC-SVR122 that is associated with a customer's account can view the live and recorded video locally using a monitor and computer USB mouse.

Requirements to locally view SVR122

  • ADC-SVR122 associated with an customer account
  • HDMI cable
  • Television or computer monitor
  • USB computer mouse (wireless or wired)
  1. Using an HDMI cable, connect the SVR122 to a television or computer monitor.
  2. Connect a computer mouse (wireless or wired) using the USB port on the SVR122.
  3. To view the SVR122 main menu, move the mouse around the screen. The following three icons appear:

1. If there are issues connecting the device to the account, power cycle the device (unplug the power jack from the device and then plug it back in to restore power). Verify the Ethernet cable is properly connected, and verify the network has Internet access.

2. If issues persist, reset the device to factory defaults by using the Reset button located on the back of the device.

  • To factory reset the SVR, press and hold the Reset button until the SVR Status LED is flashing green and red (about 15 seconds), then release the button. The device reboots with factory defaults. If the device was previously installed to an account, it needs to be removed before it can be installed again.

The ADC-SVR122 must be on the same network as the connected cameras. Typically this requires the SVR and the cameras to be on the same router to record. Note: If the router is configured as an access point, the ADC-SVR122 and cameras may be able to connect. The SVR will not work if the camera and the SVR are not at the same physical location, connected only over the internet.
The resolution of the SVR122 recordings is set by the camera’s local recording schedule. Find, add and edit the local recording schedule by visiting the Local Recordings page of the Recording Schedule link in Video on the Customer Website.
Video can be viewed without an internet connection by connecting a monitor to the HDMI port on the SVR122. A USB mouse is also required to navigate the local interface.
Videos that are saved to the SVR122 cannot be manually deleted. This restriction is to ensure that important data isn’t removed from the SVR122. When the hard drives are full, the video will be automatically overwritten, a full day at a time, on a first-in, first-out basis.
A recording schedule is saved on the Customer Website, which tells the camera to send a constant stream of video for the SVR122 to record. This traffic is maintained by the customer’s router.
