Q. Since this is an outdoor product, what are the temperature and humidity ranges?
A. Temp -40º F to 150º F 100% RH (-40º C to 66º C) (UL rated at 85% RH)

Q. What type of outdoor rating does the product have?
A. The weather-proof and water-resistant 5816OD has passed NEMA 4X water protection. NEMA 4X Rating: Intended for indoor or outdoor use primarily to provide a degree of protection against corrosion, windblown dust and rain, splashing water, hose directed water and to be undamaged by the formation of ice on the enclosure.

Q.What is the wireless range of the product?
A. The range is dependent upon the type of construction and number of walls that the signal must pass through. We anticipate over a 200-foot range in a typical installation.

Q. What is the gap between the product?
A. 1.75" on wood, vinyl and non-metallic surfaces and 1.25" on steel.

Q. What is the anticipated battery life?
A. Battery life is based upon the number of transmissions per day. On a typical installation, we anticipate approximately five years with lithium batteries.

Q. Is the battery replaceable?
A. Yes, the device will indicate when it has a low battery condition. Replace with two Energizer® E2 AA lithium batteries.

Q. Do outside weather conditions affect range?
A. No.

Q. Can the device be painted?
A. Yes, however, we recommend using specific paint designed for plastic surfaces. Krylon® “Fusion for Plastic”, Rust-Oleum® “Plastic” or Dupli-Color® “Vinyl and Fabric Coating”.

Q. Can the device be mounted on steel?
A. Yes. In the case of a metal shed, the device should be mounted on the outside of the shed to prevent loss of range.
